This woman called our dispatch center and was complaining of emf's hurting
her. Our department head, 2 engineers, and myself (troubleman 8 years), went
to her aid. The street light out front had been painted black so as not to
shine on her house. Inside the house, all the wires that fed telephone jacks
had been pulled out of the dry wall, floor to roof. In the back yard she had
stacked concrete blocks 6' high with no concrete or suring across the back,
to prevent the neighbors from shooting EMF's at her. She could feel the emf's
coming from her underground service. None of us could. She lead me to her
service panel; the cover was off and she stuck her hand in close and said,
"Feel that." I really knew this was a job for the professionals with me, but
they were still looking at channel 1 on the TV. I found 3or4 120 volt
circuits had been removed from behind the screws that would lock them down.
The static was enough that I could feel it due to the loose connections. I
put the wires back where they belonged and put the load center cover back on
and fled. As we were riding back to the dispatch center, I suggested we buy
her a hard hat and line it with aluminum foil. She also was complaining of
picking up radio signals on her molars. Apparently it was not our frequency,
however, and we could not help this. This was fun! You all be careful!
